Nativa makes the excellent coffee substitute which is also rich in antioxidants.  Come in and try it brewed like tea or espresso or better yet enjoy our special Mate Latte with a bit of vanilla flavor.

New Offerring from Josuma Coffee Company – Malabar Gold

Humberto is now carrying a delicious new coffee called Malabar Gold.

Here is what the producer says about his coffee:   Malabar Gold® is patterned after European espressos, settling on a roasting style between those of Northern and Central Italy. This blend is particularly noteworthy for its richness, velvety texture, and persistence of crema.

Malabar Gold®, the result of more than three years of development and testing, is a sweet, smooth, mellow espresso with plenty of body. It is a low-acid blend with no unpleasant bitterness and not even a hint of sourness. Its aroma and fragrance are pleasant and distinguishing, and its taste is unique and outstanding. Its aftertaste is long lasting and memorable.

Normally I write my thoughts with no coping but I can’t aprove on this description, I completely agree with it!

Mysore Mystic – Josuma Coffee Company

OK, so I said i would talk about the best of the best and this is it.

For rich spicy coffee I don’t think you can do better than this tripple roasted treasure from India.

Mysore Coffee delivers a strong lemony aroma when dry but brewed it exibhits strong chocolate aromas balanced with pepper and overtones of cardamom and cinnimon.

It has an incredibly heavy and creamy mouthfeel.  It is almost like having a mocha.

If I could have only one coffee to drink the rest of my life it would be this!

It is also fantastic as a espresso.

You really must try it.

Wow time really flies

So summer did come and went before I got around to blogging here.  This doesn’t mean I didn’t drink any good coffee, I just didn’t remeber to ad a post or 2 or 3.

In fact I had several really great coffee.

I will ad a post soon about the best of the best.

Is summer ever going to come?

They say it will be rainning again next week.  Don’t get me wrong,  I love the rain and heaven knows we need it but when will we be getting a summer vacation?  I don’t have the answer but I am trying to bring it on by drinking some coffee mixed with gelato.  They call it an AffoGato.  I call it fantastico!

The classico version is made with two scoops of gelato, a shot of espresso, and topped with whipped cream.  I figure if everyone comes in for one soon things will turnaround.

Hey join me!

Down in Brazil

If you are like me this economy is keeping you close to home.  I wanted to visit Brazil, Argentina or Chile this year but alas I will have to settle for a local camping trip instead.

So to lift my spirits I decided to visit “the Brew Bar” and try a coffee from Brazil.  I found a great little coffee called Monte Alegre.  This slow roasted offering was just what i wanted.  This is a coffee to sit and sip.  I savored the subtle flavors without any bitterness and just the slightest acidity which gives it a long lasting nutty finish.

Ok so it can replace a trip to Brazil but it did make my day.  Where should I go next?

Back to India

Tried a cup made from what was called Ganesha Espresso beans.  This has an excellent aroma and floavor reminisent of chocolate.

I think I’ll have another cup.

Ah Samatra! Oh India!

OK, so I cupped another blend offered by Humberto today.  It’s  a secret blend of  Sumatra Gayoland and Indian Balmaadi.  Both offer medium body and rich flavor with Woody-Spicy-Floral  notes coming from the Samatra.  Very satisfying with just the right acidity.

This could easily become my favorite but te so many more to taste!

What are we tasting now?
